Journey to remember
Eminem was born on 17th October, 1972. His real name is Marshall Bruce Mathers III. Eminem had a rough childhood as his parents got separated when he was too young to remember. He and his mother lived a transient life, and never able to stay at one place for more than a year. Eminem does not have many friends in childhood. Schoolmates used to pick on him, he was beaten up in the bathroom, shoved into lockers, and faced many difficult situations while being in a school. Although Eminem was not a good student as he failed ninth grade three times, but he used to study dictionary, comic books for grooming his vocabulary and humor. He always wanted to be good at English, so that, when time comes he would express his youthful anger by pulling out those words through musical genre of hip hop.
In 1996, Eminem debut album was released named “Infinite”. Though album failed to make a profit, and it was criticized for its poor production. A year later, Eminem developed a violent and sadistic alter ego named ‘Slim Shady’. Slim shady is a character which is very much similar to the persona of beast, who wants to say everything what he wants to. Eminem introduced this persona in his album Slim Shady EP, which is also a huge disappointment for Eminem but gained him an attention of various rap artists.
Eminem got his first breakthrough from his album ‘The Slim Shady LP’, which was released in 1999. The album was a huge hit and bagged two Grammy awards, along with four MTV video music awards. The success story then continues with his following album ‘The Marshall Mathers LP’ which became the fastest selling album in the history of rap songs. Although Eminem got slowed down in the mid-decade due to his personal problems, but in early 2008, Eminem again got a new pace and released his album ‘Relapse’ in 2009. Since then, Eminem did not look back and continuing his success streak till date.
